A Rave from the Globe & Mail!

There is nothing like a rave from legendary reviewer Margaret Cannon to make my day! I was over the moon to see DON’T LOOK DOWN featured in Cannon’s latest column for The Globe & Mail, “Six New Mystery Novels to Cure the Isolation Blues.” Here’s a little bit of what she had to say about my latest novel:

Donʼt Look Down, the second novel in a series featuring NYPD police Sheryn Sterling and Rafael Mendoza, is a stunning trip through the Big Apple. Itʼs also a deftly plotted mystery that begins with blackmail and revenge… This is an excellent book with good characters and an fantastic plot, but what I loved were Davidsonʼs descriptions of New York.

More About That Virtual Noir at the Bar

Friday night was a great night. The first-ever Virtual Noir at the Bar was a huge hit, with some 400+ viewers joining us from all over the continent and beyond. Huge thanks to Alex Segura for organizing the event and to Kew & Willow Books for hosting it! If you missed out, you can still watch the entire show now on Crowdcast. (I’m on about an hour and a quarter in, reading from DON’T LOOK DOWN.) They say that necessity is the mother of invention — and our current state of quarantine was obviously the impetus for doing the event this way — but the fact that this format allowed so many people to take part is an argument for doing it again even after we can go outside.

A Virtual Noir at the Bar

There’s a new event on my calendar — and it’s a virtual one, so everyone can join in. This Friday, April 3rd, at 7pm Eastern Time, I’ll be participating in the first-ever virtual Noir at the Bar, hosted by Alex Segura and sponsored by Kew & Willow Books. The lineup includes Megan Abbott, Reed Farrel Coleman, Sarah Weinman, John Vercher, Wallace Stroby, and a host of terrific writers. It’s free to attend and all are welcome. Here’s the Crowdcast link to join us. Kew & Willow Books — a fantastic shop based in Queens, NY — will be selling the authors’ books during the event, and you’ll be able to chat with us during breaks between readings. Pour yourself a drink and join us for a wonderful night of crime fiction.
